 In life sometimes we stray off of the beaten path unto roads less traveled. This often leads us to being lost in an unfamilliar wilderness. Hopefully, with God’s grace, we can eventually find our way back home. This difficult period in our lives not only teaches us about the wilderness around us, but also about ourselves. It exposes our true character, our strengths, and our weaknesses. However dark those days may be, the one thing we gain during this time of solitude and confusion is a new way home.There have been times in my life where I had become so lost that I required someone else’s help to find my way. I can appreciate those days now because I have become familliar with the wilderness and have learned my personal limitations. This allows me to recognize when others begin to stray off of the beaten path and aids me in helping them find their way back home.The people of our generation are slowly being consumed from the inside out. Anxiety, depression, addictions and other stress related illnesses are on the rise. There are a lot of self righteous believers that have ostracized these hurting people simply because they don’t understand or have not experienced the pain or the hardship that they are suffering. Some believers tend to focus on the sin and not resolving the issue that caused the sin to begin with. Somehow they believe they are more just in rejecting these fallen Brothers and Sisters than by helping them regain their direction in Christ. Believers should be busy embracing the hurting and the broken hearted to draw them closer to Christ not pushing them away. We should focus on encouragement and not rejection. It almost sounds cliche’ but, what would Jesus do?Some Christians forget that they too went through a wilderness experience at one time in their life. Some believers have become so “successfull” in their faith that they have forgotten the struggles they had before they recieved their victory. I have personally taken the time to ask several non-believers why they don’t accept Christ. There answers varied from person to person, but an alarming number are refusing to become saved because of the negative attitudes and preconceived notions of believers.
My Brother, My Sister, God has not forgotten you on the battlefield. He still gives aid to the hurting, strength to the weak, and rest to the weary. He WILL empower you through your struggles if you just trust and believe in Him. Know in your heart that you are more than a Conqueror in Christ Jesus, but an Overcomer and that there is NOTHING that can seperate you from the love of God. Be Blessed, My Friends. Be an Overcomer.
